Procurement management, construction management and coordination, and equipment relocation for the new shot blasting media manufacturing plant of Winoa Ibérica S.A. in Balmaseda (Bizkaia).

Project Details

Maratek is responsible for the management and coordination of the construction works for an industrial building (comprising four connected bays with ground floor plus one), a two-storey administrative building (ground floor plus one), and several auxiliary buildings and installations, along with the urban development of the remaining plot.

In parallel, it also oversees the construction management of a water intake system from the Kadagua River and a pump station to ensure industrial water supply for the new facility.

Facility Information

The plant covers an area of approximately 30,000 square meters and consists of four levels. It includes induction and heat treatment furnaces, screening stations, and conveyor belts for the storage and packaging of shot blasting media. Additionally, the auxiliary installations are equipped with state-of-the-art technology for water control and air treatment.

This project represents the group’s most significant investment in the past five years and has resulted in the most advanced shot blasting media factory in the sector. Beyond improving productivity, two of the company’s highlighted objectives are achieving a zero-accident rate and minimizing environmental impact
