An emblematic building in Uribe Kosta that after its recent refurbishment will be used as a business and office building. It is one of the most self-sufficient buildings in the Basque Country due to the implementation of geothermal and photovoltaic energy.
Maratek participated, hand in hand with Aecom, in the development of the mechanical and electrical installations of plants 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 of the tower, as well as in the drafting of the corresponding Activity Report for its commissioning. After a refurbishment process started in July 2016, the tower is now finalising the details to officially open its doors.
The complex covers a surface area of 7,907.15 square metres and rises over fourteen floors whose transformation and modernisation has involved an investment of around six million euros. It incorporates innovative technologies and highly energy-efficient, sustainable and environmental applications. “It is one of the most self-sufficient buildings in the Basque Country thanks to the geothermal energy we have incorporated and the photovoltaic energy”, stresses Asier San Nicolás, manager of Urdulizko Industrialdea.
